Heading out for the morning walk, I heard a familiar cackling coming from the skies. I looked up and quickly ran inside to get the camera. The geese did me a favor by taking a turn from ESE to south and thus giving more time to grab a picture. However, I did not do myself a favor by forgetting that I had the camera set on manual from the night before, thus, the geese are slightly out of focus. Still, they are an impressive sight.
I did myself another favor by finally making use of all the riding I've done and sticking to a MDR ride of those miles needed to reach 10,000 by the end of the year. I also had a unique ride of sorts as I rode in the neighborhood, something I hadn't done since October 26.
With the trees bare, the valley below really stood out and Habberton Rd grabbed my attention; with it also being December and the last month of the ride, seeing Habberton Rd has me waxing nostalgic.
The road is where I spent many an hours when the roads were icy or snowy and it has been my new default neighborhood area where I go for short rides. Beyond the bottom lower right hand corner is where I park and take off for rides that has me wandering to many various points. The amount of road shown in the picture is about 3/4 of a mile long.
The theory of relativity lives as I can well attest to as I rode for a bit over an hour and the time seemed to go on and on, much longer than the 100 miler yesterday!
Of course, if I didn't stop and take pictures, it might not seem as long.
But, finally, the 14 miles I was aiming for came and, as I pulled into the driveway another familiar cackle. I didn't even look up; I just quickly dismounted, dropped the mail I was carrying and grabbed the camera from my rear pack (I'm now always carrying the Canon Rebel with the zoom lens, unless it's raining).
